It’s almost summer, which means lots of picnics and barbecues! In this week’s episode, Yakko & Cheechan discuss some of the differences in food and customs of picnics and barbecues in Japan and the USA.
床生活を基本とする日本のピクニックに欠かせないのは、レジャーシート！その一方、アメリカはやはり椅子の文化。ピクニックテーブルや折りたたみ式の椅子を使う人が多いようです。
While most picnics in Japan are often on picnic blankets, in-line with the floor culture, many Americans utilize picnic tables and folding chairs for more comfortable seating.
おにぎりかサンドイッチ？お茶かソーダ類？持ち寄る食材にも違いがありますが、みなさんはどっち派？日本式とアメリカンスタイルのピクニックやBBQは違いもありますが、どちらも屋外で気持ち良く、美味しいものを食べて、人と楽しい時間を過ごす、その目的は変わりませんよね😆☀️
And, then there’s the matter of food! Omusibi or sandwiches? Green tea or sodas? Picnics are all about enjoying the outdoors, good food and company, whether you go more Japanese style or American.
